This is a Tim Shumate illustration of Snow White. I decided to invert the words on my banner to “Waiting for Love’s True Kiss” instead cos that just had more meaning to me personally. I won’t bore you with the details!
Anyways, I could not be more happy with the work that my tattoo artist Kosta from Zoo Body Art, KL did. And of course, a big thank you to the artist Tim Shumate as well. :-)

I’m a huge Disney fan and Beauty and the Beast has been my favorite since I was 3. I chose to permanently have it on my skin, not only because of that, but because of the message it sends. Beauty truly is within and I think more people need to realize this. I’ve been planning this tattoo for 5 years now, researching for the perfect tattoo artist. I finally found Juan at Exclusive Ink in Salinas, Ca. It came out better than I ever could’ve imagined. This is just the start and the highlight of my Disney sleeve.

This is my Mockingjay.
I was changed after reading the Hunger Games series. I read them while the revolutions were happening in the middle east, and after reading these books throughout the day then seeing the footage of the revolutions on the nightly news, they became so much more real to me. The characters I pictured as I read were modeled after people I really knew, and I felt for them like they were real, too. I cried for them, felt hopeful, was angry at their stupid decisions, and worried when they went away. I guess I can say this for many other books that I’ve read, but none have weighed as heavily on my heart as the Hunger Games trilogy has.
Suzanne Collins, here’s to you. You wrote a series that both broke my heart and gave me hope that not all Young Adult fiction has to be about vampires and young, stupid girls being hopelessly in love. I’ve had friends tell me that as they read the books, they pictured me as Katniss and my little sister, Hannah, as Prim. That’s the biggest compliment to me. I’m really proud to bear this Mockingjay on my skin for the rest of my life.

My second Disney tattoo. It usually takes a minute of staring for people to really see it; it’s a Pirate Mickey. My family has a thing for Pirates and we’re big Disney people so I came up with this design and I absolutely love it. Took this photo about an hour later, it was still bruised as you can see.

I got this 2 1/2 weeks before the Deathly Hallows part 2 premiere. The part when I first started bawling in the theatre was during Snape’s memories. Snape secretly had the most romantic relationship of the series.
“After all this time?”
“Always.”
Also, Harry’s dad tells him they’re with him until the end. Harry asks his mom and she says ”Always.”
And finally, J.K. Rowling provided me with another explanation, AFTER I got the tattoo. At the Britain premiere she said “Hogwarts will Always be here for you.”
It’s the end of an era, the end of my childhood. The most epic story, with the best friends ever. I’m so in love with my tattoo :)
